Cllr Andy Platt Standing up for Boothen, Penkhull, Stoke and West End
Following on from the new sports area and outdoor gym we now have a CCTV camera to make park users feel safe.
Over recent years, I have worked with the “Friends of Yeaman Street park” to bring about many improvements to the park. This started over 10 years ago with the new play equipment, has continued with the improved path with street lighting and more recently the new sports area and the outdoor gym.
Using part of the small budget made available to Boothen ward a new CCTV camera has now been installed on Yeaman Street park. Although there has never beenĀ lot of anti-social behaviour in the park anything that stops people enjoying the area to the full must be discouraged. It is monitored 24 hours a day.
If anyone sees anything going on that they feel isn’t correct they should contact the police and they will ensure that the camera captures the event.
**EDIT** there is a number to call on the column if you want to tell the operator about something. It is 01782-231500
