Cllr Andy Platt Standing up for Boothen, Penkhull, Stoke and West End
This morning I was on site with Staffs Wildlife, the Environment Agency and the contractors.
Work was ongoing to formally switch the flows next Wednesday. This is going to be a virtual event and I have been presented with a length of ribbon to cut!
When I left the pumps were still overpumping the river into its old course but there was some flow into the new course. Hopefully everything will go well to enable the formal opening next week. In the meantime a lot of work was ongoing including collecting fish out of the old river course and freeing them into the new waters.
