Cllr Andy Platt Standing up for Boothen, Penkhull, Stoke and West End
The time has been announced for turning the River Trent into it’s new channel.
This will be on Wednesday 4th November 2020 at 3.30pm.
I have written before about how long I have worked behind the scenes to get both the old Victoria Ground developed and the River Trent naturalised and made safer. Now that day has arrived – well almost!
I am not sure what arrangements are on the ground but the lead partner, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, has arranged a virtual ribbon cutting in a couple of weeks. Although there will be much more work before we’ll be able to enjoy walking the whole length of the Trent again, it now seems we are on the last lap.
