Last week I had a site meeting with the project manager and designer of the new car park on Hill Street.

This was previously a gym and before that the NCB medical centre. But, significantly, also it was the site of Stoke’s very first Town Hall. This is something that I think should be remembered. I am not sure what or how but something should be done!

Obviously, I wasn’t expecting complete endorsement from the people I met with but at least they were willing to listen and have promised to take the issue back to their teams for discussion. I think it would be a missed opportunity not to recognise our heritage on this site, at this time.
