Let Spode into the town centre. Let the public into Spode.

Many years ago an aerial view of Stoke Town centre would have shown that one quarter of the land area was the Spode factory.

In those days it was a thriving business and was partially accessible to local people through their courtyard to the restaurant, Blue Room and museum.

With the sad loss of manufacturing on site there were plans to open the site up to further include the new businesses into the town centre. This was the Labour plan.

A very uninteresting and not historic building by the cenotaph should come down to allow public access to the site. The courtyard by the Spode “Arch” must be opened so that there is a circular route for pedestrians to the new businesses in Potbank Hotel area. Some of the most long-lasting and sustainable local businesses in Gordon House must remain. The Tory plan is to close these businesses for the sake of a garden.
