Stoke Police Station has been closed for several years. The Tory Police and Crime Commissioner was particularly pleased that he managed to make so many cuts to services.

There was supposed to be alternative community provision but that never materialised leaving a whole community without a fixed police presence. The Tories have shut 9 police stations in Staffordshire and that alone has cost 260 jobs. They promised that they would not close the stations until alternative sites were found.

At the time the chief constable said “My promise is this, that I will not close any police stations, I will not move officers out of any police stations unless and until alternative accommodation can be found in that local community.”

They still have direction marker signs around the site to upset the locals
