Ward issues review

023_Potholes.jpgThis week I spent a couple of hours walking around the ward with several council officers and local PCSO to identify what issues are outstanding and identifying new ones.

I am always walking through the ward and reporting issues for action by the council.  As you can see from my previous post on Yeaman Street park they are normally acted on quickly.  Unfortunately, sometimes this does not happen.

What I have noticed is that the state of the roads has deteriorated since I last walked around with officers.

We identified nearly 80 issues, either new or outstanding throughout the ward.

The items included:-

fly tipping and litter in Fletcher Road, Cornwallis Street, Selwyn Street, Corporation Street, Lime Street, Butler Street, Lonsdale Street, Club Street, Empire Street, Empire Passage;

road repairs in Corporation Street, Empire Street, Selwyn Street, Maclagan Street, Cornwallis Street, Stamer Street, Butler Street, Gable Street, Birks Street and Nicholls Street;

proper dropped kerbs and tactile paving along Campbell Road, Fletcher Road and London Road;

repainting of yellow lines in Chamberlain Avenue, Butler Street, Fielding Street and Boothen Old Road;

parking issues in Fielding Street, Foden Street and the area around West End Village;

overhanging trees on Boothen Old Road and Empire Street;

empty properties in Selwyn Street, Cornwallis Street, Lime Street and Birks Street.

All these have been reported and I shall be watching to see when they are completed.

If you think anything has been missed please email me with any issue on andy.platt@stoke.gov.uk.
